Is there any way to set my Ustream Broadcast Desktop application to restart automatically if it loses its connection?
If the connection is lost, or if it gets knocked off line, I must be there to manually restart the broadcaster. Otherwise it goes "Off-Air".

Automatically restart Producer if there is a drop in the Internet connection. *Vote here!*

I am sorry but there is no way to have Ustream Producer automatically reconnect if the internet connection drops mid broadcast.
Can you connect via ethernet and not wifi? This is especially important if the wifi connection is weak and intermittent.
If you want you could post this as a new Idea here: http://community.ustream.tv/ustream -

why the connection lost message instead of simply auto reconnect?
what if ethernet connection not possible?-
Hi Arise36 - Because you are trying to stream a video over the internet, and videos require a good connection to be able to successfully process all that data, a wired connection is optimal versus a wireless connection. However wireless broadcasting is possible, you just need to be connected to a strong and reliable wireless network and need to have an upload speed of at least 1.5mbps. To check your connection you can test here: www.speedtest.net.
At this time, as Max mentioned, Producer doesn't auto-reconnect. If you are trying to stream from a mobile device and notice the area you want to stream from doesn't have a good wireless connection I'd recommend searching online for products that can provide wireless hot spots. If you are trying to stream from your home wireless connection and notice your bandwidth is too low I'd recommend calling your internet provider to find out why and to see if they offer any affordable options to increase your internet speed. -

This is the 21st Century, what used to be housed in 2 buildings now resides in ones shirt pocket.
It is a simple task to actually test to see if there is a internet connection and attempt to resume the feed.
As I just noted on my own post, ie: the problem I am having is not the loss of internet access but being dropped from the streaming services.
When this happens, again, it is just a matter of programming to be able to buffer the live stream on the local computer and attempt to automatically reconnect to the service. If it determines that it cannot, then put up a message that the feed is being buffered locally and will resume once the connection has been re-established manually, with prompts.
If not, the buffered stream should be able to be stored for rebroadcast at a later time when there is a connection. Menues, prompts and programming is all it takes. -

I think this really has to be implemented.
This is because I am on a 1.5 mbps connection , and ustream is fine when I am broadcasting normally but my line gets dropped from my ISP because of attenuation and it cannot be fixed as they said, they recommended me to change to 3G , but the FUP limit is too expensive , so I request you to please add this option and will be very grateful. -

Recently we meet very serious PROBLEM. When connection was loosing Ustream Broadcaster NOT START to try to RECONNECT with server (like Skype for example). We broadcast 24/7 (with playlist) but we not stay in front of computer all the time. When the connection is dropped by technical problems out of us, and we are not in front of computer, the BROADCAST STOPPED and our listeners see OFF AIR. Software have not SOUND ALARM when connection is dropped. It's very important functions about normal working and broadcast.
Thanks in advance, -

But it's very very important function - LIVESTREAM have this functionality, Skype have this too.

I just worked a 2 day event, Saturday went off without a hitch.
Sunday... almost, there was 15 minutes left to the event so I stayed up on my camera platform.
Unbeknownst to me, the video stream port connection failed, the only message I got was from the Producer Pro program saying that the connection was lost.
This was a hard-wired 100mb/s connection with no throttling and I still had my internet connection. (it's a sponsored cable modem)
The video stream was set at 500kbs which is well under the hardware limits.
I know this because I had Producer Pro on a dedicated "live-stream" computer and I was monitoring the stream from my laptop which was also hard-wired.
I restarted the live-stream which popped up almost immediately.
Had this function been implemented, there would have been minimal disruption and my viewers would have seen the rest of the event -

I see you guys have changed stuff on your website, but still the broadcaster remains the same, you are loosing a lot of broadcasters without this option! Please implement this!
